Every year, the EPT takes place in different countries and destinations. The first one occurred in Barcelona, Spain, in 2004 as season 1, and has had different destinations since then. The first EPT Live reported by PokerNews took place in March 2007 in Dortmund, as Andreas Hoivold won €672,000 after defeating a field of 493 players.
